ICA AB today announced that Kenneth Bengtsson will step down as President and
CEO of ICA in June 2012. At this time he will have been ICA's CEO for eleven
years and active within the company for more than 30 years.
The ICA AB Board will now begin an external recruitment process in Sweden and
internationally.
Claes-Göran Sylvén, CEO in Hakon Invest and Chairman of ICA AB's Board of
Directors, said, "It's been eleven successful years for ICA during Kenneth
Bengtsson's leadership and we have now agreed to start a planned succession
process for a new CEO."
"The time has come for me to embark on the next chapter of my life," said
Kenneth. "I will communicate more at a later stage about what that next chapter
will be, but in the meantime I will remain focused on my responsibilities as CEO
of ICA until June 2012. I have had many great years with this fantastic company
and the time feels right for me to move on and help the ICA Board ensure a
smooth transition to a new leadership," he said.
