ICA Sweden
– Sweden’s leading grocery retailer

Business concept: to be the leading grocery retailer with focus on food and meals.

With some 1,300 stores and a market share of approximately 33%, ICA Sweden is the leading grocery retailer in Sweden. Operations are conducted in cooperation with independent ICA retailers, who own and run their own stores and meet the customers through locally adapted concepts and offerings. Many ICA retailers are also active through local community engagement.

Operations also include extensive work with, among other things, store establishments, purchasing, logistics, IT and market communication, which makes it possible to achieve economies of scale.

In addition to grocery stores, ICA Sweden includes ICA Special, which works with purchasing and sales of non-food items and handles sales of non-food items at Maxi ICA hypermarkets. ICA Special also conducts wholesale operations for ICA Kvantum, ICA Supermarket and ICA Nära stores in Sweden, and provides products to ICA’s operations in the Baltic countries.
