Once a year all of the managers conduct a performance review with their employees. The purpose of the review is to break down the company’s business plans into clear goals, activities and priorities for the individual employee. When all of our employees achieve their goals the organisation as a whole receives a real boost. During the performance review an individual plan is also set for the employee’s overall career development in the long and short term. The general circumstances and work situation of the employee are also discussed.
The first review is followed up on a regular basis during the year and goals are updated at least once every six months. At the end of the year the employee and his/her supervisor follow up how well the employee has performed in relation to the personal goals that were set and evaluate what development potential exists. This enables the employee to develop further within the company.
– for a high-performing work environment
ICA Gruppen’s employee survey is called SpICAp and is a web-based survey that is carried out at the same time once a year throughout the Group. The survey is based on the premise that employee commitment is of great significance for a company’s financial performance. Employee commitment is measured in three areas: rational, emotional and motivational commitment.
The rational element shows how we think, i.e. our employees’ attitudes to ICA Gruppen’s goals, visions and values. The emotional element shows how we feel, i.e. the emotional connection between the employee and ICA Gruppen. The motivational element shows how we act, i.e. the willingness of the employee to go the extra mile to help ICA Gruppen achieve success.
A committed employee is in harmony with our goals, is proud of being part of ICA and is willing to go the extra mile. But to retain the same level of commitment over time, it is essential for the employee to be happy and to thrive at work. Measuring both commitment and well-being therefore increase our chances of creating a high-performing work environment.
The results from the survey are used as a basis for developing the company. We focus on three areas in particular:
The 2014 SpICAp survey results show that ICA Gruppen’s employees now more than ever are dedicated, feel good and have great bosses, which, in comparison to other global high-performing companies, is an excellent result. A total of 73% of ICA’s employees participated in this year’s survey, which is close to 16,000 people.
When the results are presented, all managers will receive a report based on employee responses in the survey. The managers will also receive a guide for how to hold a workshop with the employees to identify and decide on measures and activities to further improve the workplace.
