The starting gun for ICA’s centenary celebration will be fired already in the first TV commercial of the new year. At the same time, the web site ica.se/ica100 will launch, and provide news on the centenary celebration and on the ICA retailers’ initiatives in different parts of Sweden. All year, customers will notice the anniversary, through activities and communication, not least in the ICA stores.
All of ICA is built on an idea of local entrepreneurship, where ICA retailers own and run their own stores, and therefore have a major commitment in developing their local community. That is why we want to take the opportunity to focus on all the good initiatives that ICA retailers are already working on, and will strengthen during 2017. We can look forward to everything from multicultural food meetings to efforts in locally produced food and projects aiming to improve food and exercise habits for the youth, says Fredrik Hägglund, CEO of the ICA Retailers Association.
With our history and a number of retailers’ initiatives, we will also look forward during the year. Together with experts and innovators, we want to investigate where the development is heading, for instance, we will look at how the customers’ needs, the retailers’ role, the stores and the assortment could look in the future. At different points during the year, we plan to share the results, in the form of ideas and insights, of our investigations, says Per Strömberg, CEO of ICA Gruppen.
